We realize that improper cleaning procedures can void your carpet warranty, so rest assured our methods are safe. Why take a chance with rented equipment that can leave the carpet too wet - promoting mold and fungal buildup - or that leaves detergent behind? Instead, enjoy beautiful results and avoid the headaches of potentially damaging approaches.
The ServiceMaster Clean Carpet 8 Step Cleaning Process Includes:
- Preliminary inspection of your carpet to determine the best cleaning method
- Pre-treating spots and stains
- Pre-applying the cleaning shampoo to loosen ground-in soil
- Rinsing your carpet using clear hot water
- Post-treating any residual stains
- Grooming carpet for efficient drying and uniform appearance
- Placing pads under furniture legs to protect the carpet while drying
- Performing final inspection with you present to ensure you're completely satisfied.
Carpets should be professionally cleaned every six months to a year. A professional cleaning service has the equipment and expertise to fully remove dirt and detergent, and will remove most of the moisture in your carpet. Consumers using rented equipment often leave the carpet too wet, causing mold and fungal buildup, or they do not fully remove the detergent.
Oriental Rug Cleaning Process:
- DUSTING AND VACUUMING
Flooding a rug with pounds of fine grit and dirt in the foundation creates mud. This is why a rug needs to be dusted before it gets wet.
This is performed with an upright vacuum cleaner, or other dusting machine, to “shake” the dirt out of the foundation of your rug from the back side of the rug.
- FULL-IMMERSION WET WASH
Rugs need to be washed thoroughly But first, the dyes of your rug are tested for colorfastness. If the dyes are not colorfast, then the rug is bathed first in vinegar to stabilize the dyes during the wash process to help keep the dyes from migrating into the neighboring areas. The rug is then washed using mild rug shampoo and cool water. By using mild temperatures during washing, and in drying, you avoid the worry of shrinking.
- DRY FLAT
All of our rugs are laid out flat to dry. Air movers are used to help facilitate drying, and dehumidifiers help control the drying environment.
- FRINGE WORK AND FINISHING
Fringe tassels are scrubbed during the wash process, and additionally when needed. The rug after being thoroughly dried (we have moisture sensors that tell us when it is 100% dry) is then given a final grooming with a horsehair brush, and then rolled and ready to go home.
